About OpenMeet

My name is Tom. I'm a husband, father and software developer of over 25 years who lives in Louisville, Kentucky.

Like many people, I've enjoyed online meeting applications for meeting people and going to events near my house. Which is why I was upset to see that some meeting applications are now charging my neighbors $25 a month to host meetings. That's hundreds of dollars a year — even if you want to host a gaming afternoon.

I put a team together and we created a product that will help you connect with neighbors, and do it for free. OpenMeet has no ads, and we'll never sell your information.

OpenMeet is built as open source, which means that the community has control. We didn't build it to get rich, but to enrich communities. As a matter of fact, it's owned by the contributors, can't be bought or shutdown, and we like to call it Billionaire Proof!

Oh, and we created OpenMeet to be absolutely secure, so nobody can harvest or even see your private information about contacts or events.

It's time that we all reached out to our neighbors to build strong communities. I hope that you like OpenMeet. Reach out and tell us what you think!
